Looking for a fun date in Washington DC without leaving the house?
You see those faces? Those are the faces of four WINNERS! Throughout the pandemic, we've had a standing date night on Fridays with our friends in NY. Often, we find a virtual game to play. This one was so much fun, I had to share it.
Get your game faces ready for a virtual escape room! The Escape Game has brick-and-mortar escape rooms from coast to coast, but they've adapted to the pandemic by finding a way to safely bring their adventures to your screen through their "Remote Adventures." Coordinate with a few friends, pick your date and time, choose your favorite theme, and work together to escape the room in under an hour. There's an actor IN the actual escape room, and a guide to help you along the way.
Did I mention we escaped in UNDER 50 minutes?! I'm not bragging, I'm just saying... we might be the best escape artists of all time.
What I found most surprising was how seamlessly they use technology. The actor is wearing a head cam allowing you to direct him to where you want to look. As you discover clues, they appear in a folder at the side of your screen. Once you've used that clue, it disappears, which helps you focus on the important information you still need to sort out.
All in all, we had a great time! Seriously -- under 50 minutes! You could try to beat us. You won't, but you could try.
